A lot have been said about Baguio. But we'll dig a little deeper about the stories behind it. Like why the streets and parks have American names while Manila has Spanish ones.. why heritage houses and monasteries became haunted.. favorite restos of city folks. And then we start to appreciate the city more.

Hidden from the busy Session Road is the rich cultural heritage of Baguio. Nope, you don't have to go up Cordillera mountains to find it. It's just nearby. Calling you. "This is the real Baguio before the Americans came. Not Burnham Park."

First thing Anthony Bourdain does wherever he goes is to visit the market. Likes to experience the sights, the sounds, the excitement. Sadly, he never had the chance to visit Baguio market. He would have enjoyed it. Tourists do. But residents? Been there done that.

Yup, the first bomb dropped during WWII was in Baguio. The last one too, when the Japanese fled to our city after being kicked out of Manila by the Americans.
