Baguio stories

A lot have been said about Baguio. But we'll dig a little deeper about the stories behind it. Like why the streets and parks have American names while Manila has Spanish ones.. why heritage houses and monasteries became haunted.. favorite restos of city folks. And then we start to appreciate the city more.

Ili-Likha Artist Village. Art under construction.

Remember Kidlat Tahimik of Oh My Gulay? He founded another artist village cum resto that provides inspiration for Baguio artists and environmental advocates. Food's good, too!

Night Market. City night life.

Oftentimes outsiders are amazed how cosmopolitan Baguio folks look. Trench coats. Boots. Signature bags. A normal Session fashion statement. We just know where to find them. When the night falls, let the hunt begin.

50’s Diner. Typical American.

My first favorite Baguio resto. Until I discovered Good Taste. And then Teahouse. Luisa's. Vizco's. Slaughterhouse. Etc. Every week. "Sarap ng buhay, Sana ganito nalang lagi ha?" Until a virus came and they all closed down. Bummer.

The Baguio Longanisa Story.

Longanisa is actually a common breakfast fare all over our country but tourists and even locals found our version better. Or is it really? No idea but in every Panagbenga (except this year, of course), long lines can be seen in our homegrown longanisa vendors.
